Bathroom Renovations: Changes for People with Limited Mobility

Signs You Need A Tree Removed From Your Property

People sometimes assume trees don't need to be removed unless they are interfering with power lines or growing directly into their homes. Indeed, these are reasons to have a tree removed. But they are not the only reasons to have a tree removed — and in many cases, it's easier to have a tree removed sooner when the signs of issues are more subtle. If you're noticing any of these issues, consider calling a tree removal company sooner rather than later.

Excessive moss on a shaded roof.

Is there a tree overhanging your roof? In some cases, you can leave the tree there without too many issues, provided you keep it trimmed back. However, if you are seeing a lot of moss growing on the roof, that's a sign that your roof and the tree are not compatible. There's likely just too much shade being cast on the roof. It's keeping the roof so cool and moist that the moss has moved right in. At this point, if you don't remove the tree, you will probably need to replace the roof prematurely. Any future roofs you have installed will suffer the same fate. It is more affordable and less of a hassle in the long run to just have the tree removed.

Roots are growing into your sewer lines.

Sewer lines tend to attract tree roots. The roots find the tiniest crack in the sewer pipe, work their way in, and then expand until they block the line. If this happens once, you can have a plumber come grind the roots out of the line. But chances are, the roots will just keep growing back — unless you have the tree removed. The cost of continually having to have your sewer pipe cleaned out is often more than that of having a tree removed.

The tree is damaged.

Does your tree have a crack in one of its branches? Maybe it lost a branch and now looks to be struggling to recover and grow back. Although it is possible for a very badly damaged tree to recover, more often they end up dying, losing additional branches, or suffering further damage that compromises their structure. Because of this, it is often easier to just have the tree removed when you notice the initial damage.

If you notice the signs above, you should call a residential tree removal company. They can look at the tree and let you know whether removing it is really a good call.
