Low Water Pressure? 4 Tips To Get That Flow Flying Again

Is your water pressure low? If it is, you can get that flow flying again without necessarily rushing to call a plumber. In fact, here are four tips you can use to improve the water pressure in your home.

Check With Your Water Company

In some cases, the problem is with the water supply and not your home. It's worth giving your water company a call or checking the online portal if you have one for any news about current issues. Sometimes, it takes you getting in touch for them to be alerted that there is a problem. If they can't see an issue, then it's worth taking the next steps as it will be a problem within your home. If they say there is a problem, wait for them to rectify it and then check again.

Is There a Clog Somewhere?

There could be a clog somewhere in the piping for the water getting into your home. This is usually due to corrosion, and could lead to rust building inside the pipes. You will need to get a plumber out to fix this problem, and it could be an issue for your water company to fix.

Rather than a clog, it could be a leak that needs fixing somewhere. If you can, look at the piping to your home to find out if either of these issues could have arisen.

Get Your Tank Lowered

The higher the water has to run into your boiler, the more pressure will be lost. When this is the case, you may have to arrange to get your tank lowered to another part of the house. This is more of a problem when your tank is in the attic of a higher building.

Is the Stop Tap Closed?

This can sound like a silly question, but you'll be surprised at the amount of times this is the problem. The stop tap may have been knocked without you realizing, or you may not have opened it fully the last time you had to use it. Go and check the tap and make sure this is not causing a problem in your home.

Leaks and corrosion are common issues for low water pressure, but it could also be with your water supplier. Check all the possibilities that you can do alone and call out a plumber like Angeles Plumbing to have the more problematic areas checked, once you make sure the water company doesn't have an issue they need to fix.
